About Laura

My Professional Journey

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree (Psychology Major) from York University in Toronto, ON and went on to obtain my Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from McGill University in Montreal, QC. I completed my internship through McGill’s Psychoeducational & Counselling Clinic, providing counselling to students at a local high school in Montreal.

Throughout these years I volunteered with TransCare Community Support Services, formerly Scarborough Support Services; by providing assistance to the community who were in need of emotional support due to illness, disability or functional limitations related to aging.

After university I moved back to Toronto to pursue my career and was fortunate enough to join Kinark Child & Family Services as a Multisystemic Therapist in the MST Program. An intensive family- and community-based treatment program that focused on addressing all environmental systems that impact chronic and violent juvenile offenders - their homes and families, schools and teachers, neighborhoods and friends.

With the formal education and experience under my belt I was certain it was time for me to pursue my ultimate goal, to start my own private practice in Psychology & Counselling.
